Poetry is at the heart of Mariona's artistic practice. Whether experienced on the page, through spoken word, or through interdisciplinary performances that weave together voice, film, music, and visual storytelling, her work invites audiences to encounter the invisible threads that connect us across cultures and generations. Rooted in both personal narrative and collective imagination, her poetry creates spaces for reflection, connection, and possibility. She is currently completing her first poetry collection.
Her poem Arabesque was selected as part of the Boston Mayor's Poetry Program. Performed live in Boston, the poem reflects on Mediterranean identity, ancestry, migration, and the histories carried within our bodies.
